Leo XIV in Lampedusa: Today, Pope Leo XIV visited Lampedusa to highlight his preferred issue of immigration. He began the visit with a silent prayer at the Cala Pisana cemetery, standing before the wooden crosses of migrants who had died while being trafficked. During his homily, he greeted the immigrants and thanked them for helping each other. As he walked along the island’s rocky coast, the wind blew his zucchetto off (as can be seen in the video).

Poland: Festival of Life 2026: Mass, Music & Faith in the Forest 🌲 | SG News
The forest district of Kokotek in southern Poland is hosting the annual Festival of Life. As the country's largest Christian youth festival, this week-long event welcomes more than a thousand participants into a massive forest tent city for outdoor Masses, Eucharistic Adoration, and specialized workshops. This year's theme, "The Beginning," draws directly from the Book of Genesis, inviting young people to reflect on personal identity, the relationship between faith and science, and contemporary generational challenges. Renowned Catholic speakers, including Father Adam Szustak, are leading theology conferences alongside nightly praise and worship sessions led by the festival band, Three Days Three Nights. Popular Christian recording artists will perform throughout the week, offering a vibrant public space where young Catholics can freely live their faith and build lasting community relationships.

'Restitution for Sins of Speech
Every sin requires restitution. Sins against a person’s reputation are no exception.
If someone has been harmed by detraction or calumny, justice demands that the harm be repaired as far as possible. This may involve correcting false statements, restoring a person’s good name, or at least refraining from further harm.
This requirement underscores the seriousness of sins of speech. Words, once spoken, cannot easily be undone. We should all note that it is particularly difficult to offer proper satisfaction for sins of the tongue in this world. This is one of the factors which makes them such awful sins.
Once, a woman confessed the sin of detraction to St. Philip Neri. She had said a terrible untruth about a neighbor. St. Philip gave her a unique penance. He said, “Take a feathered pillow to the top of the hill outside the town and rip it open; then come back to the confessional.” The lady did as instructed. When she returned, thinking she would receive …Mai

Catholic Ethics of Speech On the Sins of Gossip, Detraction, and the Proper Use of the Tongue | The Fatima Center

The Moral Weight of Words Among the many sins that imperil the soul, those committed by speech are often the most overlooked. Yet Sacred Scripture repeatedly warns of their gravity. Our Lord Himself declares: “But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall render an account for it in the day of judgment” (Matthew 12:36). The tongue, though small, holds immense power. St. James teaches: “The tongue is indeed a little member, and boasteth great things… the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity” (James 3:5-6). In an age of constant communication – through conversation, text, and social media – the need to understand Catholic ethics of speech has never been greater. Words can edify or destroy, sanctify or scandalize. They can save souls or contribute to their ruin. The Virtue of Truth and Charity Speech is governed principally by two virtues: truth and charity. The virtue of truth requires that we speak honestly, neither deceiving others nor distorting reality. …

HOLY SMOKES. FBI Director Kash Patel reveals **3 MILLION** p*dophile accounts on the Tor network were taken down, plus a nearly 100% SURGE in child predator arrests "7,200 kids that we found that got to go home. 3,400 child predators and traffickers arrested. That's up 99% from the best year Biden ever had. That means kids are being protected at levels that are simply unheard of!" "And that means this FBI, here's another thing. We didn't just do the physical work on the streets. We went to the cyber community and we dismantled 3 million pedophile accounts off the Tor network where these predators prey on our children and think they can hide from this FBI." "They can't. We are going to the ends of the earth and the cyber realm to make sure our most precious commodity kids are safeguarded." "And the numbers speak for themselves because the FBI are putting kids first."

Bishop Kozon: "Traditionis Custodes Does Not Harm Church - FSSPX Consecrations Do"

Bishop Czesław Kozon of Copenhagen, Denmark celebrates Mass according to the Roman Rite whenever he is asked to do so, he told de.CatholicNewsAgency.com on 4 July.
He favours a pastoral approach: "People who want this should have the opportunity to do so."
At the same time, he believes that 'Traditionis Custodes' "does not harm the Church": "One must recognise that the post-conciliar liturgy is the Church's liturgy, and that it can also be celebrated beautifully. That is the ideal we should strive for."
He described the episcopal consecrations performed by the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX) as "tragic and completely pointless".
Monsignor Kozon continued: "It also shows that this is about more than just the old Mass. Those who once praised the Church’s Magisterium, emphasised obedience and promoted unity are now acting in a way that is clearly disobedient and harms unity. That is why it is truly sad, and there is no excuse for it."

Cardinal Pizzaballa: "Gaza Is A Disaster. The Smell. The Rats."

Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa visited Gaza on June 22-23 and recalled the situation on June 29 in Bergamo, Italy, when he received a Prize from the Italian geopolitical magazine Limes. Key phrases as reported by VaticanNews.va.
- "Gaza is a disaster. The cities have been razed to the ground, leveled, wiped out. Rafah no longer exists."
- "What strikes me most is traveling along makeshift roads, through tents and sewage. This is where the people of Gaza live."
- "One thing the images do not convey is the smell. "One of the greatest scourges right now is the rats, which bite. They bite children above all, and Gaza is full of children—you see them everywhere, but instead of going to school, they play, dirty, beside the sewers.”.
- "Dual-use goods are not allowed in. And by dual-use they even mean school desks, pencils, notebooks, and the glass needed for windows. We want to reopen the schools, but we are missing almost everything."
- "Healthcare workers have told me that what is needed …Mai

Keir Starmer’s parting gift to Britain: The ‘gayest Parliament in the world’ - LifeSite

Fri Jul 3, 2026 - 7:27 am EDT (LifeSiteNews) — On June 29, outgoing U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer declared that the British House of Commons is “the gayest Parliament … in the world.” Starmer, who resigned on June 22, hosted an LGBT event for “pride” month at 10 Downing Street. He was introduced by lesbian Labour MP Olivia Bailey, who joked that her hairstyle was inspired by Starmer’s and introduced him as a “lesbian style icon.” Starmer, beaming, responded to that introduction with great pleasure. “Lesbian style icon, I like that,” the prime minister said. (To imagine any of his esteemed predecessors uttering such a line stretches the mind to breaking point.) “I’m really proud that we’ve got the gayest Parliament,” he declared. “I don’t think, just of all time, anywhere in the world, I don’t think there’s any Parliament that is gayer than this Parliament. That is fantastic.” He did not explain why, precisely, having the world’s “gayest Parliament” was “fantastic,” although perhaps …

The Decree, the Note, and a Growing Crisis of Canonical Credibility

Just as predicted, when the Holy See announced the excommunication of the bishops consecrated by the Society of Saint Pius X, the headlines were horrible. Attention immediately centred upon the gravity of the penalty and the implications for the Society’s future. Supporters and critics alike hurried to debate Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre’s legacy, the necessity claimed by the Society and the consequences for traditional Catholics throughout the world. Almost unnoticed, however, another conversation began among canon lawyers. Within hours of publication, experienced canonists were asking not whether the Holy See possessed the authority to impose penalties, for no serious Catholic disputes that principle, but whether the documents published by the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith had actually achieved what many commentators assumed they had achieved. The distinction is not a technicality. It goes to the heart of whether the Church’s supreme doctrinal authority has exercised its judicial …
