Pope Leo XIV calls on the Church to gather the “fruits” of 10 years of Amoris Laetitia — saying they should nourish the whole Church and help local Churches “recognize new paths.”
“Recognizing the work of grace in situations of failure.” Pope Leo XIV opened a Vatican meeting on marriage and family in the Paul VI Audience Hall on October 7, marking the 10th anniversary of Amoris Laetitia. Presidents of bishops’ conferences, bishops and experts participate. “In many contexts, a growing distance has emerged between the way sex and intimacy are experienced and the Christian vision of marriage,” Leo XIV admitted. Speaking about "fragility" and "wounded" situations, he asked whether the Church can “recognize the work of grace even in situations marked by limitations, wounds, and apparent failure.”

Suicide of a priest: Bernard Card, 73, parish priest of Sainte-Chantal Church in Dijon, France, has committed suicide (pictured left). The Diocese of Dijon announced his “tragic death,” which occurred during the night of October 4–5 at the Sainte-Chantal presbytery. Card had recently been tired and had previously been deeply affected by the suicide of his brother. Ordained in 1981, Rev.
