Vittorio Messori Has Died

Catholic Italian author Vittorio Messori, 84, died on Good Friday in Desenzano, Italy.
One of his most influential works was The Ratzinger Report, which was based on an interview with Joseph Ratzinger conducted in 1984. The book evaluated the Church's condition following the Second Vatican Council.
Messori also collaborated with Pope John Paul II on the book Crossing the Threshold of Hope. In it, the Pope wrote that Jesus Christ is the unique Saviour of humanity and that Christianity contains the fullness of revealed truth.
Throughout his career, Messori was renowned for his loyalty to the Church, coupled with his intellectual independence.

UK Experts Warns New Covid Strain Poses Higher Risk To Children

UK experts are warning that pre-school aged children need to be vaccinated against Covid to stop another pandemic.
A new variant of Covid is about to become the dominant strain in the UK, officials have warned, prompting experts to call for Covid vaccinations to be included in preschool immunization programs.
Dubbed the ‘Cicada’ variant, the BA.3.2 virus is already rapidly spreading across the US, with cases now having been detected in 23 other countries including the UK. Named after an insect, the new variant could disproportionately affect children,
according to one leading microbiologist.

Professor Ravi Gupta, of Cambridge University, believes the virus could spread most with children who have no covid immunity, increasing the risk of a new wave.

BILL GATES admitted “Humans Will Be “OBSELETE” And “We’ll Decide” If We Still Need You! In a chilling new interview, billionaire globalist Bill Gates dropped the mask and revealed the endgame for humanity. "Due to advances in AI, humans will no longer be needed." When pressed on whether society will still require people at all, Gates coldly replied: "Will we still need humans? Not for most things. We'll decide."

To the Spirits in Prison: When Jesus Descended into Hell — Beyond These Stone Walls

The Apostles Creed is the oldest statement of Catholic belief and apostolic witness. Its Fifth Article, what happened to Jesus between the Cross and the Resurrection, is a mystery to be unveiled.
“This is the night when Christ broke the prison bars of death and rose victorious from the underworld.”

This is my 13th Holy Week post from prison. In each of them, I have tried to move away from my usual format, which is sort of a prison journal, to make our Holy Week post a more serious theological endeavor. That has been a challenge where I live because my resources for research are few. Despite that obstacle, we have over these years presented a series of posts about the events of Holy Week that have become popular with readers.
Some of these posts stand out more than others. They tend to follow the Way of the Cross so we have selected seven (besides this one) that could become daily readings for a personal Holy Week retreat …

In the silence of Holy Saturday 🕊️, as we await the light of the Resurrection, we remain steadfast in hope and prayer. We keep vigil at the Lord’s Tomb, holding in our hands the flame of faith which, in a moment’s time, will illuminate the whole world. 🕯️

Saudi Arabia just killed its $38B desert skiing dream Saudi's megacity project NEOM abruptly canceled 2 massive contracts for Trojena, the insane plan to build the world’s first outdoor ski resort in the desert. The $5B dam for a man-made mountain lake and the steel for giant elevated ski runs? Both terminated. Years into construction with steel skeletons already towering over the mountains, the whole $38B geography defying fantasy is now effectively dead. Desert powder and Star Wars hotels… on ice.

Why You Can Relate to Simon of Cyrene - Good Catholic

There is something about Simon.
Each time I read the Gospel accounts of the Passion or when I pray the Stations of the Cross, I am moved by the “man from Cyrene” who—when Jesus is too weak to carry His cross—is given the cross to carry for a while.
In none of the accounts does Simon ask if he can assist Jesus. In fact, it seems he was forced to carry the cross.
In both Matthew and Mark’s gospels, we are told that Simon was “pressed” to carry the cross.
Luke’s account reads,
And as they led him away, they seized one Simon of Cyrene, who was coming in from the country, and laid on him the cross, to carry it behind Jesus.
Luke 23:26
The Eastern Church celebrates the feast of St. Simon of Cyrene on December 1st each year.
Not only can we learn about Simon, we can learn about ourselves by taking a closer look at his story.
Simon Didn’t Want to Carry the Cross—Neither Do We
Unlike Veronica, who we encounter shortly after reading about Simon (and who lovingly wipes the face of Jesus), …

By their fruits you shall know them. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
McGovern thinks that Putin is trying to talk sense into trump. With Putin giving him the real cold Turkey saying, we can't let this go on so that Israel is destroyed and has no other option than to use nukes.
It's always President Putin who tries to restore and make peace. This is why Russia is so Blessed. And why some hate the fact Putin was not involved in the epstein files as they had hoped. I lost count this year alone on how many times President Putin and Russia was rewarded for helping out others. No matter how much some try to make us hate Russia or Putin, the facts always speak louder than words. And they just can't handle that.

Synodality in Action: During the Holy Thursday liturgy, Bishop Michael Martin of Charlotte, North Carolina, delegated the foot-washing ritual to lay men and women. The Eucharist was at the Jesuits' church. Bishop Martin participated in the ritual himself, but he also allowed members of the laity to perform much of the optional Mandatum.

Brian Williams on Twitter: Meanwhile in Charlotte, Bishop Martin delegated the washing of feet on Holy Thursday to lay men and women. +Martin did participate to some degree, but at this Jesuit parish where he chose to celebrate Holy Thursday, the laity assumed the role of the clergy for much of the (optional) mandatum.

The hypersexualization and dark themes prevalent in modern gaming and comic book media reflect a broader cultural agenda driven by corporate interests that seek to exploit psychological vulnerabilities for profit. This phenomenon stems from deliberate marketing strategies that capitalize on hormonal impulses, desensitization to violence, and the erosion of traditional moral frameworks—all of which are amplified by the unchecked influence of globalist-controlled entertainment conglomerates.
